Tumblrās āwalking on eggshellsā and āone strike, youāre outā mentality is really really immature.
Reblog if ya agree.
Another unpopular opinion:
TheĀ āYou can apologize, beg for forgiveness, and change your ways all you want but it wonāt change a thing cause youāre still horrible vile trash that deserves to die a fiery deathā mentality is really harmful, scary, disgusting, and will probably get someone killed, be it by someone elseās hand or their own
yet another unpopular opinion: the āunproblematic favā mentality is really bad because youāre putting an individual up on a pedestal and treating them like a deity of sorts and forgetting that they too are human beings and make mistakes.
Another unpopular opinion: Not every mistake is the Worst Thing Ever.Ā Sometimes people make small mistakes, and sometimes ignorance is a small mistake, and they do not need to grovel and beg and apologize perfectly because in the scheme of things it was a small mistake that didnāt even seriously hurt anyone, outside of tumblrās performative moral outrage being offended.
These are all extremely valid unpopular opinions.
hereās Another unpopular opinion: when someone becomes successful the need to rifle through someoneās pasts posts/tweets/Facebook post to find the One Thingā¢ļø they did wrong and shame them then lead a witch hunt for their coerce apology. Followed by working to destroy their future needs to stop. People say dumb and ignorant things, but can learn from them. There are certainly people who donāt, and they should be held accountable. But more often than not the ones that are dragged are people who said/wrote something bad once or twice back at a time when they were a different person. Tumblr and now twitter need to learn that people do change, and usually the bigotry is environmental.
Digging through someoneās past to find that One Thingā¢ļø to drag them about and cripple their future shows more about the digger than the person theyāre attacking. Jealousy is the most vile thing in this world.
