Also, a pattern of coming down really hard on people who try to be inclusive/progressive and kind of fail just makes people scared to try.

The entire purpose of “problematic” in SJ spheres is to say “I/we have a problem with this” without actually taking responsibility for your opinion. It’s flawed at its base.

Failing at things is one of those ways we learn things, and if we’re not allowed to learn from our mistakes, or become better because of them, what’s the fucking point?

But who am I kidding, they pretend to know everything already, so.

The point is using other people’s mistakes to gain power over them. They care more about that than actually changing things for the better.

It’s also a tactic to ignore growth and make an example of people based on past mistakes instead of making an example of their growth because somehow it’s progressive to scare people into following a specific moral code than actually convincing them with logic. – Purple
