My William was born the 13th of June 1953, he was 17 when Michael was born and neither him nor his wife Rebecca (girlfriend at the time and who was 16 then (they had been dating for a few years by this point)) was ready but due to pressure from both his parents and hers they started their family, Thomas aka Crying Child arrived 5 years later when they were actually prepared for more kids and after they had moved to America, 5 years after that Elizabeth was born and Rebecca passed away during child birth.
William was 45 when he suffered the Springlock failure that “killed” him.
So 1998 is when he died or supposedly well then. Tragic about Rebecca on dying during birth.

Yup, he died in the November of 1998.
Rebeccas death is the point in time where things take a dark turn for him, his upbringing was also dark having grown up with abusive alcoholic parents who didn’t hesitate to take out their anger on him etc etc, when he met and started dating Rebecca he thought his life was finally going a direction where only good things would happen but then the love of his life passes and it nearly destroys him.
Oh the 90’s and what a year to die in.
Poor man, I’m guessing Rebecca’s death might of been some of the cause for his, “Give them life” attitude unless I’m wrong.

It’s one of the events that gets him rolling down that road yeah, the other being when he looses his youngest son in 1982, he eventually snaps and kills Charlie as he can’t stand the fact that Henrys family is happy and whole and his family is falling apart.
When he realises that Charlies spirit resides inside the Puppet he starts to figure out how it would be possible to force someones soul in to a machine, in ‘86 he starts work on designing robots that could house souls (aka the Funtimes) and without giving him all the details enlists the assistance of Henry with the cover of creating robots for rent, the murders in ‘87 are a test of his theory that close proximity to the animatronics upon death would cause the souls to inhabit them and he observes the Puppet putting the souls in to the animatronics and this is when he discovers ‘Remnant’, ‘89 is when he finishes work on the Funtimes and Circus Baby’s Pizza World this is also when Elizabeth gets killed by Baby and he’s aware that she possesses the robot.
He spends the next 9 years refining the Funtimes and the way in which remnant is used resulting in all the robots becoming possessed, in ‘98 he decides to do away with Freddy and the gang as he no longer requires them and thought that simply destroying the robots would cause the spirits to move on, he was wrong and ends up suffering the springlock failure that “kills” him.
