A while back, @adobe-outdesign made a really cool logo for a modern day Afton Robotics (link) and it made me want to make a sort of “what came before”, since most major companies that have been around for long enough change their branding to keep up with the times.

So this would be Afton Robotics’ logo, circa… 1980′s? Yeah, sure, let’s go with that. It carries a lot of the same symbolism as Adobe’s, just with a more dated piece of tech and a more stylized, thick-outlined look. I tried stylizing it after stuff like Macintosh’s and PBS’ logos, and made the words a script font as a nod to what was described in TTO.

Just doing a quick comparison of Before and After

I think the first one was made around… 3 months ago? Maybe more or less.

The after one was done real quick with the drawings I already had so uh, sorry for the lazy lighting. I just wanted to see the difference. I think I made a lot of progress!

I love the way Fiszi designed her, but I missed the red nose XD The next step will be to vectorize her and rig the 2D model. I want to try out animating expressions!

To create a 3D illusion, I often draw a single image, and then separate it into layers. Then, by moving the layers at different speeds and distances, it can give the illusion of shifting perspective or rotation. Here is charlie’s collapsed house and freddy’s jumpscare (which is more complex in the trailer and game) as an example!
